 This book is a dystopian steampunk romance and action story involving angels, demons, powerful life lessons, finding one's passion in life, healing, forgiveness and letting go of one's fear. It's the Alchemist meets the Notebook in a steampunk universe!

Can a lonely man overcome his own inner demons and embrace the pursuit of what God has ordained for his life? With his former life no longer possible, Mark McLeod faces an uncertain future alone without faith or hope as he finds God, his inner hero, other allies. He joins with celestial beings to assist humanity to reclaim their light against the Power Wolves and forces determined to dominate humanity. 

Mark learns to rediscover his inner passion and find new love as he starts over and finds his true calling. With the help of Celestial beings, Mark learns of a plot to destroy New Philadelphia just as the post-Civil War reconstruction was getting far along in 1886. He discovers that his role in this saga is far more than simply a brilliant inventor that his steampunk passion has shown him thus far.

This book has a little bit something in it for a lot of people. I initially wrote it to help men going through a divorce. This can be one of the most painful experiences a person can go through in their lives. It was something I lived through and learned a TON of great nuggets along the way. It is chock full of spiritual advice, dry humor and kung fu. After all, it's not every day that steampunk angels pay you a visit, or have they already?

We follow Mark, the main character as he learns about himself and his spiritual path and purpose. He rediscovers his passion for life and joins up with a band of steampunk angels. Together, they assist humanity to try and defeat an evil alliance and prevent the destruction of New Philadelphia in 1886. He finds love along the way as he struggles to create an eclectic band of misfits. I really giggled the vast majority of time I wrote it.  This story is book 1 in a trilogy for which I am already working on book 2.

In late 1886 after defeating the Power Wolves in the Battle of Philadelphia (in what it became known as), Mark finds himself wondering what to do next. He notices strange happenings around town that don't make any sense. Events that only he remembers or people that disappear with no warning or reason. The traumas of those fateful days are still being processed and now he finds himself having to continue facing his inner demons. He yearns for the old days when life was simpler, when he was a dad, helping rebuild after the war. Wait, the war.... something sounds off about that 18-year civil war our country fought to a bitter breakup. 

He just had a weird vision of the country having 50 states! Wondering if he had somehow messed with future timelines, he did what he liked best -- waffles! Perhaps this was a problem only the Waffle Brotherhood could solve! Mark began a search for information and clues as something in his mind's eye was not right.
